- I am definitely not one of those women who are in the salon every month or so. I get my hair done about 3 times a year, if even that... I guess I am lucky because my color always seems to hold up, with the exception of root growth.
I rarely ever get the same color style 2 times in a row! I love to see a change when I leave the salon, and I am usually willing to try more edgy color. Its so much fun!!!
Of course I bombard Pinterest and Google searching for just the right color combinations I want or would like to achieve... Hopefully I am planning on a trip to the salon very soon, to let Miss Jasmine Riggs, of Jelane's Hair Studio, Yadkinville Nc, work her magic little fingers on my hair...
I just love to try unique colors, not to have one boring monochromatic tone.... I will update or do a new post when I get a new color. XOXO- Leighanna
Here are some colors I am looking at-
Here I have in purple and teal peekaboo highlights, I have my hair pulled up just to show the color. It was much more luminous when it was fresh, this is about 3 months out....
I am looking to do a dark brunette color with some type of green highlights... I have had vibrant colors in before...
I was given the opportunity to try 3 great plant based skin care products...from La Deessa. a company that sells Alcohol Free, Filler Free, Fragrance Free, Paraben Free, Sulfate Free, Cruelty Free products, and has a money back guarantee behind their products. Luminous- 25% Retinol Anti Ageing Elixir- was my favorite item of the three, immediately I saw a difference in the brightness of my skin. It is recommended to use this elixir once, at night before bedtime. It has little to no smell. It feels great when its applied to your skin, no stinging or burning. It is not a greasy product, it dries quickly and results are seen and felt. Ageless- Peptide Eye Serum- also had little to no smells, the texture was about the same as the other products. They did not bother or cause extra sensitivity around my eyes. Another item that gives speedy results!! Great for this puffiness and dark circles. -Youthful- 20% Vitamin C Serum- the one I was most excited to try!! There is so much buzz going around about vitamin c serums for your skin care routine...I love it. I like that it comes with a little dropper, so you don't have to waste the product... Some smell, just barely! Goes on great and soaks into the skin well.... The other 2 bottles are good quality pump bottles. Each of these packages contain 30ml of product, enough to go a long way! I really recommend these items, I can not help but to look at my skin every time I walk by a mirror.... XOXO-Leighanna
*I want to state that I did receive the items above, free of charge, for my unbiased, honest opinion. I tested these items, personally and these were my thoughts....
La Deessa Skin Care Products- found on amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s?marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=A3V7VK09MS37BV&merchant=A3V7VK09MS37BV&redirect=true
Sunflowers-The botanical name is Helianthus. The Greek word “helios” means sun and “anthos” means flower. It is aptly named after the sun which it resembles... I have always loved all things sunflowers! They are just so bright and happy. I am living in such a beautiful country home, I decided I wanted lots of sunflowers... I started with seeds, planted in separate pots, indoors for about 4 weeks... As soon as the weather was perfect, I transplanted them outdoors... I put them in random spots, but mostly in my front yard area. I wanted to see them everyday! It seemed like they grew every day...one of them. is really towering over the rest. If you look at the photos above, you will see. She has passed the first story of the house!!! These have been in the ground for over 2 months, and up until this week, they had not bloomed yet... Now all with the exception of one plant have blooms. The bees love them... I also love the birds they attract. I used cheap seed packets from the dollar store, so I don't remember exactly what types I planted. They are super easy to grow, and I definitely recommend them for beginning growers... XOXO- Leighanna
I ran out of my usual bb cream , and just picked this one up to try.... It is supposed to be a 5 in 1 bb cream skin perfector...... -Helps perfect skin- Pore minimizer- Erases skin imperfections and minimizes fine lines- Smooths skin- Brightens skin...
My first impression, was that it was a little runny. Just like most bb creams, a little does go a long way. I used the color, medium, which blended into my skin well. It does have like highlighter in in, which gives the luminous glow. It is shimmery, but not too glittery, it is very pretty on the skin... I did use only one layer, and the coverage was pretty good for a bb cream, but I would normally use more than one layer, to build it up... Overall I really like this bb cream and it only cost $3.47...! I would recommend it.. XOXO-Leighanna
In the photo above are the directions for consumption... A big thing to remember with this supplement, is to take it on an empty stomach.... at least 30 minutes before you decide to eat with water. The recommended amount of water is at least 8 ounces.
-So much BUZZ!!! around this product and finally I am getting to try it.... I used/ am currently using Life & Food brand Garcinia Cambogia Supreme... The link to the Amazon store is listed above. This is a dietary supplement, that is supposed to suppress appetite and inhibit fat loss, improve energy and serotonin levels. The Supreme formula is 85% HCA- Hydroxycitric acid. The capsules are on the larger side, comparable to the size of a prenatal vitamin.
* I want to state that I did receive this product, free to test, and these are my own opinions....
To start, I took the maximum dose, 2 capsules twice a day.... 30 minutes to an hour before eating, on an empty stomach. right from the beginning I did notice a big PLUS!!!! No side effects...no jitters, no nausea!! Almost every supplement, similar to this one, I have taken, has caused horrible side effects. I can assure you this capsule does not. Another great thing I noticed, was a slight change in my mood, I seemed calmer and more balanced. Immediately, I did notice a change in my appetite. I would stay full for many hours and when I did eat a meal, my portions were half the size as I would usually take. (And by the way, I love food!!!) Although, I did not see a significant loss in pounds, right away, I was able to look at my body and see some changes...I was able to fully zip and button some jeans, that I had not fit into... It definitely does some magic in the tummy area, the spot most of us have a problem with... It is an amazing product and I am going to continue to use it! I know there are so many mixed reviews, it can be confusing. I can say, if you take this product as directed, it will work for you... Of course its not just a pill you take and eat all this food and do no exercise....You need a plan with it.
-Broken- heart shaped brush, twists and curves to give lashes that extra volume-
The photos above were taken after wearing the mascara, for at least 6 hrs. I very much recommend this Rimmel mascara, it only cost $5.47....
Let me start by stating, I don't wear false eyelashes, and like a normal looking mascara.... I would compare this mascara most to, Perversion, by Urban Decay.... That is the brand I was using for months, before I ran out. I honestly thought this one went on the same way, the color was similar, the results are similar.... The Rimmel was a little less messy, and did not take as long to dry... The applicator is way different....
I love green! It was hard to chose a color, but I wanted something that really stood out.... It took me a day to finish this project. (That's working on it whenever I found time).... All I did before I started was give it a good cleaning.... I did not go out and buy expensive chalk paint brushes....
These are great chalk paints/ waxes... I used regular paint brushes and sponges... I'm really happy with the results and it was super easy to do.... XOXO- Leighanna
They are around $6 per bottle.. I purchased two, this piece used all of one and about half of another, a little goes very far.
I just wanted to share my before and after photos and tell you guys what products I used... I did not spend a lot on this piece... Here are some photos of the vanity
I used Folk Art brand chalk paint- In the color Irish- http://www.joann.com/search?q=chalk%20paint
I just wanted to share, and I do recommend trying it for a facial lotion.... XOXO- Leighanna
I received a sample of this in my last months PinchMe box. I have been using it for over a week now. You will never guess where??? My face.... I was out of my usual facial moisturizer, so I picked up this and have been using it every day, 2 times a day....My skin has never felt so hydrated!! Its a great moisturizer to put on before your make up routine. It makes your face the smoothest canvas to work with. A little of this product goes a long way, and I actually massage it into my skin. it does take a little bit for it to set in, but it is well worth it. I have not used a Gold Bond product in a long time. until now....I don't know if this lotion is really for the facial area, and I usually would not apply a regular body lotion to my face. It does not really have much of a smell. I'm really glad I tried this, I cant stop feeling my skin or looking at it in the mirror....It somehow makes my face look very luminous and healthy. I do have some sun spots and scarring, I am hoping with continued use they will improve...
Bitter sweet day, I just received my last Ipsy subscription bag!! For those of you not familiar with Ipsy.... https://www.ipsy.com/
Here is my last bag, and it was a really great bag....probably one of my best... I have been with Ipsy from the beggining, and I just feel it is time to move on.
I'm open to any suggestions, what you guys subscribe to, the good bad and ugly:)
I purchased these items about a month ago, I have now had time to test them out... They were very inexpensive, and came from Walmart or Target.
the photo above only contains E.L.F. products....
E.L.F Contour Blush and Bronzing, in both cream and powder forms ( I was unsure of which would work better for my skin). In the color- St. Lucia http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/face/blush/contouring_blush_and_bronzing_cream
I loved these and use a mixture of each to create the look I want.... the only thing, for me the St. Lucia isn't quite dark enough, I want a more sculpted look. Great product and very affordable.
HD Setting Powder- http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/face/powder/high_definition_powder
Makeup Setting Spray- http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/face/tools/makeup_mist_and_set
I loved each one of the items above!! Highly recommend them all.
Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter- In Glow/Fair- http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/eyes/concealers_and_primers/under_eye_concealer_and_highlighter
The concealer gives great coverage, could be a little lighter (I purchased the lightest shade). I have not really used the highlighter end yet.... Great brush.
I also got a few things not made by E.L.F, and one of them was probably one of my most adored cosmetic finds....
Powder Palette - Mineral Glow Pearls- By Physicians Formula- In Translucent- http://www.physiciansformula.com/en-us/productdetail/powder-palette/blush/07042.html
I don't think I can truly put in a blog, how much I am in love with this!!! It is the perfect highlighter. Not just a bunch of cruddy looking glitter!! I wear it every day with or without any other products, I use as eye shadow, I mix it in my lip gloss.... It comes in the cutest compact, has a little pearl in the middle- If you do highlighters, GO GET IT NOW....
Last, but not least.... I picked up a great Sonja Kashuk Angled Contour Brush- http://www.target.com/p/sonia-kashuk-core-tools-large-angled-contour-brush-no-113/-/A-10320312
Baby Skin Pore Eraser- By Maybelline- http://www.walmart.com/ip/34121134?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227022778620&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40843558112&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=78657117752&veh=sem
These were just some items I wanted to share....As always I like to rave on about things that I feel deserve it, and just DOA the things that don't :) No negativity here
